Have you ever had an idea that you were so passionate about?

But then you started to ask the opinions of your friends and family members, and they all left you with doubts. You gave them the power to hold you back. Ultimately, you were so confused that you hadn’t made it real afterwards.

Can you relate?

Don’t permit them to hold you back!

Let me tell you something. It would be a shame not to try. Because it’s your own life, and you are the one living it, not the others.

You would miss a great opportunity to learn more about yourself. Because even if it doesn’t work, you will be left with a whole new experience, which not trying would rob you of.

Their limitations don’t have to become your own

I can recall in 2018 when I was only 25 years old, I got an invitation to join my friend and travel to Morocco. He was already there for a few weeks, so I had to travel alone to meet him.

The first thing we do is ask people around us what they think about the idea, and many often wouldn’t come up with supportive words. It’s more about their fear.

I heard something like:

That’s too dangerous.

They will rob you there.”

“You probably won’t come back.

Blah, blah, blah…

Indeed it made me question whether it was a wise choice or not.

Then I thought to myself. I need to go and experience it on my own! We shouldn’t allow other people’s limitations to hold us back.

I was more afraid of what I would be missing out on! So I booked my flights and went anyway!

And I was thrilled I did so!

I had two amazing weeks where I surfed a lot, met wonderful people, tasted a different culture and built that kind of boldness for my future decisions.

I’m very happy about the lessons I gained.
